When Bel’s not travelling the north or writing Substacks, she leads creative content for a very cool research centre, where she applies graphic design, copywriting and photography to create meaningful branding and compelling content for use on social media, websites, articles and publications.

About Bel
Bel is a proud North Australian born and raised in the tropics and loves going on adventures to explore more of our natural environment.
Her creative work has been featured in national publications and used by some very cool organisations like Landline and Qantas. You can follow the adventures by subscribing to her Substack, NORTH by Bel Carlson.
Bel’s career has stretched economic and social policy for the north, managing a First Nations art centre on a remote island, as well as a furniture buyer, stylist and colour consultant.
These days Bel leads creative content for a research centre focused on the sustainable and nature positive development of Northern Australia. She also offers creative support to rural businesses through NORTH creative agency and one day hopes to run her own cattle enterprise in the top end.
